Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect?

We understand that it can be challenging to take the first steps to begin therapy. We try to make the process as simple as possible so you can get right into counseling!

We have several therapists with a variety of specialities. We take into account your personal history, preferences, and availability when matching you up with a therapist. Read more about our therapists here.

We use a Client Portal where you will complete the intake process, schedule/edit appointments, and communicate directly with your therapist via a SECURE messenger. We use electronic intake forms that you can fill out at home, right from your computer or phone. In your intake documents is a short intake form that asks questions about what you’re going through and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. This way, your first session can be all about you and what you want to focus on.

When you are ready to get started, you can fill out out contact form, call us at (631) 204-3434, or request an appointment.

Our therapists are all trained in a variety of modalities. All of our therapists have master’s degrees, NY State licenses in their specialty, and maintain ongoing Continuing Education. Our therapists utilize a holistic approach to therapy. Holistic therapy recognizes the connection between the mind and the body; we will ask about your physical health, daily habits, eating, sleeping, family, work, friends, cultural background, and many other aspect of your life! We believe that all of these factors are connected, and that they make up who and where you are in your life right now. By utilizing the holistic approach, we are able to recognize small changes you can make that will lead to a big difference in how you feel! There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to therapy. Our therapists use a variety of techniques from their repertoire to determine the best fit for you! Some of the therapeutic modalities we use include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Strengths-Based Therapy, Holistic Approach, Trauma-Focused Cognitive behavioral therapy (TF_CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and the Seeking Safety therapeutic model.
